Hooters Closes All MA Locations Including Nearby NY Location

A few years ago, I dined at Hooters and recall trying their various hot sauces with chicken wings. I wondered, "How does anyone manage to order the spiciest one?"

Of course, being the wimp that I am, I went with the mildest sauce for the wings, and I couldn't pass up a burger and fries. Unfortunately, if you want to get your "Hooters fix" now, you may need to look for alternative locations. As we just learned, Massachusetts no longer has any Hooters locations.

All Hooters Locations Close Permanently In Massachusetts

If you're familiar with Riverdale Street in West Springfield, you've seen many changes over the past decade, with new businesses coming and going. In addition, Hooters in Dedham and Saugus have closed, along with the Colonie, New York, location. A sign was posted on the door at each Hooters location informing patrons that the location had unfortunately closed. Here's what the sign said:

“After much deliberation, we’ve made the difficult decision to close this location. We are incredibly grateful for the many years of great times, cold beer, hot wings, and unforgettable memories shared here. Thank you to our guests, team members, and community for the support over the years.”

Hooters closed dozens of restaurants, including the Shrewsbury location, in May following its filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Where Is The Next Nearest Hooters Location?

If you want to get your Hooters fix, your only next option is to drive 3 hours down to East Brunswick, New Jersey. Ironically, this location is attached to a Best Western Hotel, so you could easily make a night out of it.
