I used this link this morning to pre-register for an appointment for my first COVID-19 vaccine.  The link went live today for residents of Massachusetts.  It allows anyone to pre-register for an appointment and get notified when an appointment is available.  Once contacted through my preferred contact method (text, phone, email), I will have 24 hours to respond and confirm the date and time of the appointment scheduled.

President Biden addressing the nation last night said every American wanting the vaccine will be able to get their first shot by May 1st.  He told state governments to do everything in its power to make sure that happens for the residents of their state.

The Mass site has been a source of frustration for those attempting to schedule an appointment for a vaccine.  The site has had few scheduling opportunities or the site has crashed all together.  Governor Baker’s team is attempting to eliminate the frustration by developing and launching this new site to allow residents to pre-register and be notified on an appointment is available.

The appointments made through the pre-registration site will only schedule appointments at the major vaccination locations in the state. The closest to the Berkshires are the Big Y in Wilbraham and the Eastfield Mall in Springfield.  Other locations in the state include; Gillette Stadium, the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Doubletree Hotel in Danvers, Natick Mall in Natick, and the V Factory Outlet in Dartmouth.

Adults will no serious health issues under the age of 65 still have a wait for a vaccine appointment whether you pre-register though this new site or search for an appointment outside of the state’s major vaccine locations.  Currently individuals age 75 and older, individuals age 65-75, individuals with 2 or more certain medical conditions, residents and staff of low income and affordable senior housing, and K-12 educators, K-12 school staff, and child care workers are eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine now.
