Hoosac Valley will try to add more hardware to the trophy case Saturday when they play St. Mary's for the Mass. Div. 3 Girls Basketball Championship.

The Lady Hurricanes from Cheshire will collide with the Spartans from Lynn on the court at Worcester Polytechnic Institute at High Noon. The Western Mass champs defeated Central champions Millis 63-42 in their semifinal earlier this week. Northern Champion St. Mary's won a semifinal thriller over Southern Mass champion Archbishop Williams 62-59, denying the Bishops a chance at trying to three-peat as State titleholders.

Hoosac Valley will be playing in their fifth state championship game in the last six years but is still hungry for their first Div. 3 title. St. Mary's has won the crown three times before, the last time in 2014.

You'll be able to catch all the action Saturday as Jack Passetto broadcasts live from WPI, starting with the pregame show at approximately 11:50 A.M. on AM1230 WNAW and streaming online at wnaw.com.

The Taconic Braves also are looking to bring the big prize back to the Berkshires tomorrow. They play TechBoston from Dorchester for the Div. 2 Boys championship at 2:15 at WPI. It'll be a rematch of last year's final, which was won by the Bears. That game can be heard on our sister station AM1420 WBEC.
