It’s official…Harry’s Supermarket was officially sold last Friday according to an article posted at  According to the report the keys were handed over to the longtime family-owned business by the Nichols family to Ravikant Patel another local Berkshire businessman.

Harry’s Supermarket started out as a variety store on Wahconah Street 107 years ago by Harry Nichols Sr according to the report.  The Nichols family has been part of the legacy of Harry’s ever since.  The article states that the store standing today was built in 1957 replacing the family's variety store and the beginning of what has been known as Harry’s Supermarket for decades.

Harry’s grandsons Robert and Thomas Nichols made the decision to retire after working in the family business their entire professional career according to the report.  It was a seamless transfer of ownership with the new owners training under the Nichols brothers for the last month according to the report.

According to the article, Harry’s Supermarket will remain very much like it is right now keeping the name and the current employees intact.   Harry’s new owner Ravikant Patel also owns local Berkshire businesses Williamstown Wine and Spirits and O'Geary's in Adams according to
