Town of Florida residents approved all articles passed at the recent annual town meeting, including an operating budget of $2,004,062 for fiscal 2021, an increase of 13.4 percent from last year.

The town also appropriated $1,576,545 toward education, a 1.8 percent increase from last year.

Other measures approved by the town included buying a used truck for the highway superintendent, investing in enhanced emergency equipment and resealing the brick face of Gabriel Abbott Memorial School. The town's annual payment to the state police for law enforcement presence in the area makes up a slightly larger margin of the budget than last year.
