Clarksburg: Town Field Renamed; Dedication Planned

Peter A. Cook VFW Post 9144 is sponsoring a rededication of the town field, renamed this year to PFC Peter A. Cook Veterans Memorial Field, and a celebration of Cook's life at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7.

The Berkshire Eagle  reports  Cook was the only Clarksburg veteran killed in action in the Vietnam War. The Massachusetts Medal of Liberty award, issued by Gov. Charlie Baker, will be presented to a member of the Cook family.

A light lunch will follow the dedication. Those attending are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
