Check Out These 3 Towns In Massachusetts With A Population Of Zero
I enjoy exploring abandoned places, particularly those that have been deserted for decades. Given that Massachusetts was one of the first areas settled in the United States, it's no surprise that uninhabited towns can be found throughout the Bay State. Even though these towns have been abandoned for many years, there is still a rich history to discover on your next hike.
Before we dive into the list of ghost towns, take a moment to envision what these places looked like during their peak. There are some locations that I didn't even realize were once actual towns. Back in the day, they were more commonly referred to as villages. Without further ado, let's explore these three hidden ghost towns in Massachusetts.

The lighthouse currently located in Provincetown's harbor is known as Monomoy Point Light. Constructed in 1849 from cast iron, it replaced an older wooden tower and a brick lantern room that once sat atop the keeper's house. Unfortunately, the lighthouse was decommissioned in 1923 for reasons that remain unknown.
This historic landmark was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 1, 1979.
Out of all the hidden ghost towns in Massachusetts, former Whitewash Village is my favorite. It’s situated in one of my top vacation spots during the summer: Provincetown. I think I’ll add this place to my bucket list of places to explore. Does anyone have a boat I can borrow?
