After serving in the position on an interim basis since May, Jessica Rumlow formally has been appointed as the CEO and executive director of the Berkshire Family YMCA.

Rumlow replaces Randy Kinnas, who served in that position for 19 years. Kinnas left in May to become director of member advancement for the Alliance of Massachusetts YMCAs.

Rumlow takes over as the Berkshire Family YMCA gets set to implement a $5 million renovation of its Pittsfield facility at 292 North St.

Rumlow joined the Berkshire Family YMCA in 2013, the year her family moved to Pittsfield.

She did not return a telephone call seeking comment. But, in a statement, she said she is "looking forward to continuing to work with the community in this capacity. I'm particularly excited to be part of the Pittsfield Y's renovation project, from which the community will truly benefit."

The Berkshire Family YMCA recently merged with the Northern Berkshire YMCA in North Adams and has formed partnerships with the Catholic Youth Center in Pittsfield and the Bennington Recreation Center in Vermont. These moves have led the YMCA to expand its child care services, and expand its membership and programming from Lenox and into Vermont.
