After dealing with weekend snow & sleet, followed by sub-zero temps & dangerous wind chills, our highs today got all the way into the teens. Then late this afternoon, a Winter Weather Advisory was posted by the National Weather Service, from 9 A.M. to 6 P.M. Wednesday for the chance of some freezing rain the first part of the day. Of course, this all comes with the territory in late January in the Berkshires.

But take heart! I'm about to bring a ray of hope to our bleak mid-winter: one month from today, on Friday, February 22, the World Series Champion Boston Red Sox will play their 1st Spring Training game of 2019. It'll be the traditional opener against the Huskies of Northeastern U. The following day they'll jump right into action against a major league opponent, the NY Yankees.

The Sox regular season opener will be on March 28 at Seattle. They'll play several games on the road before their home opener Tuesday, April 9 against the Blue Jays. By that time, we hope all the talk of snow, sleet & winter storms is done.

And yes, once again all the Red Sox action, all season long, will be heard on your hometown station, AM 1230 WNAW.
