The Berkshire Eagle  reports an Adams man faces the prospect of spending the rest of his life in prison after his arraignment Tuesday in the August shooting death of a New York woman.

Tyler Sumner, 25, appeared in Berkshire Superior Court before Judge John Agostini and entered a plea of not guilty to a charge of murder. He is accused of fatally shooting Stephanie Olivieri, 32, of Yonkers, N.Y.

Sumner,also entered not guilty pleas to two counts of committing a firearms violation with three previous violent or drug crime convictions, and one count each of armed assault with intent to murder and carrying a loaded firearm without a license.

He was ordered held without the right to bail.
