There are always plenty of things to do in and around North Berkshire on the weekend. here are a few suggestions:

All four of our local high school football teams are playing under Friday night lights and only one is at home, sort of. Mt.Greylock takes on Mahar, still in Williamstown but on the field at Williams College at 7 P.M. Hoosac Valley is at Pittsfield; McCann Tech travels to Smith Voke; and the Drury Blue Devils are at Monument Mountain. If you can't head to Great Barrington to see that one you can catch it live starting at 6:50 on WNAW AM 1230 & streaming here on wnaw.com.

A unique show opens tonight at MCLA's Venable Theatre on Church St. in North Adams. Live actors and puppetry combine for "She Kills Monsters", by Qui Nguyen. Directed by Laura Standley, the show runs this weekend and next. Tickets are $15. Find out more here.

Check out the Hoosac Harvest Vendor and Craft Fair Saturday from 9-3 at Hoosac Valley Middle and High School, 125 Savoy Rd, Cheshire. 70 plus vendors, over 70 items at the raffle tables, a stuff your own animal station and more! It benefits the Hoosac Valley Elementary PTG.

Since they probably won't let you sleep over on the HVMHS campus, head back there Sunday morning from 8-11 for the Hoosac Valley Leo Club's annual Pancake Breakfast. Funds go to the Club's Create a Dream project at Christmas. All you can eat hotcakes, with sausage or bacon, and a beverage, just $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, & $4 for kids under 12.

We had some frost on the pumpkins this week but there's still time to channel your "inner Linus" and go in search of your own great gourd in whichever local pumpkin patch you think is most sincere.

Enjoy your weekend!
