2 From North Adams Given Jail, Probation

The Berkshire Eagle   reports two North Adams residents were sentenced to jail time and probation this week, after admitting to drug, gun and child endangerment charges.

Robert Moore, 29, and Whitney Barber-English, 25, each pleaded guilty Tuesday to 11 counts stemming from a search of their home March 6, 2018.

During the search, the Berkshire County Law Enforcement Task Force recovered 1,800 bags of heroin, about $1,100 in cash, some of which was marked and used in controlled purchases, an unsecured gun on a bureau and an ammunition magazine with six rounds.

Each pleaded guilty in Berkshire Superior Court to charges of possession of heroin with intent to distribute; conspiracy; possession of cocaine with intent to distribute; possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony; illegal ownership of a firearm; possession of ammunition without a firearms identification card; improper storage of a firearm; and three counts of reckless child endangerment.

Judge John Agostini sentenced each to two and half years in jail, followed by two years of probation.

The imposition of those sentences was stayed until Nov. 27.
