A new British survey by Independent found about one in five people planned to make a New Year's resolution this year.  Young people are more than twice as likely to do it than older people.  And women are slightly more likely to do it than men.

As always, one of the most common resolutions is to lose weight.

Another new survey out of England looked at the top 10 foods that can kill a diet.  Despite having a slight British slant, most of the foods are things that end a lot of diets here too . . .

Chocolate and other candy.

Chips.

Fish and chips.  Which is definitely a British term.

But in this case, "chips" means French fries, which applies here too.

Pizza.

Breakfast sandwiches.

Cheese.

Cake.

Cookies.

Curry.  It's weirdly popular in the U.K.

Burgers.
