The Berkshire Eagle reports the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition is launching a campaign to urge parents to talk with their children about drugs and alcohol.

And it wants the conversation to be deeper than "just say no. ""Having rules and enforcing them is part of it, but that is not the whole thing," said Wendy Penner, director of prevention and wellness at the coalition.

"It really is, from an early age, having a conversation with your child on these topics,"

Through its nb21 (not before 21) program, the coalition announced at a press conference on Thursday that The campaign also points parents to resources on the nb21 page of the coalition's website.

it has filmed public service announcements and crafted posters that will be distributed and displayed locally.
