The North Adams Museum of History and Science will soon be pulling out of the station.

A post on their Facebook page said that the Historical Society's board of directors voted last week to permanently close the present museum on Sunday, November 4, 2018.  The Museum, currently in the Western Gateway Heritage State Park will be relocating to the North Adams Holiday Inn.

The closure is necessary to prepare for the move into the new quarters, which they hope to open by next Spring. In the meantime, the Museum will need time to prepare the new area, deliberate on how the new configuration for displays will look and then move everything out of the old space.

If you've ever been to the Museum you know there's a lot of stuff that will need to be carefully packed and moved. So they're looking for volunteers for the project. If you can help out, call 413-664-4700, or stop in during Museum hours: Thursday through Saturday 10 to 4, and Sunday 1 to 4 through October.
