Bowling League Recruitment
The JFF (Just For Fun) bowling league is looking for women age 18 and
over to join their Monday night Woman's bowling league at Mount Greylock
Bowl. They currently have teams looking for additional members or gather
some friends and create your own team. For more information contact

North Adams farmers Market
The North Adams Farmers Market opens for the season on Sat., July 17th from
8 till Noon. The Market will run every Saturday through the end of October
with local vendors and farmers selling their fresh produce and other related
items. You'll find them each week in the Municipal Parking Lot on St.
Anthony Drive between Marshall and Holden Streets.
North Adams Public Library Book Sale
Friends of the North Adams Public Library are now accepting donations for
their book sale to be held September 24th and 25th.
Items most needed are reasonably current fiction and non-fiction books,
classic literature in good condition and children's books. They're also
accepting CD's and DVD's in original packaging and covers--no copies. No
magazines, textbooks or any books in bad condition will be accepted. You
can also volunteer to help with the book sale. More information is
available at the North Adams Public Library.
Williamstown Farmers Market
The Williamstown Farmers Market is up and running this summer with several
vendors providing a variety of locally grown and baked foods and handmade
crafts every Saturday through October 9 from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM. You'll
find the Williamstown Farmers Market set up in the parking lot at the bottom
of Spring St.
Salvation Army Ladies Night
The Salvation Army Women's Ministries at 393 River St., North Adams sponsors
a night just for the ladies each Wednesday at 6. There's scrapbooking,
crafts, movies, bible study and more. Transportation is available if

NB Retired Men’s Club Recruitment
If you're looking for a place to go, meet old friends, neighbors, relatives,
coworkers and have coffee and doughnuts, Northern Berkshire Retired Men's
Club might be for you. Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month
at 10 AM at the Greylock Community Club in North Adams. Members must be 55
or older, residents of North Berkshire, Pownal, Readsboro & Stamford Vermont, and
retired from their regular full time job. Dues are just $10 per year.

NARH Community Art Program
New works by local artists will be on display at North Adams Regional
Hospital as part of the hospital's Community Art Program.
Visitors to the hospital may view the art exhibit at any time. Just pick up
a copy of the "Self Guided Tour of the Art Exhibit" at the Information Desk
in the main lobby. This exhibit will continue through October 22.
NA Public Library"Toddler Time"
North Adams Public Library holds "Toddler Time" for Ages 1-3 every Tuesday
at 9:30 A.M.. And for the slightly older kids (Ages 3-6), it's Preschool

Williams College Museum of Art Exhibit
The Williams College Museum of Art presents "This Girl Bends: Art and
Feminism Since 1960", with over twenty artworks from the museum's permanent
collection. The Williams College Museum of Art is
open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 am to 5 pm, and on Sunday from 1 to
5. Admission is free and the museum is wheelchair accessible. For more

Mt. Greylock Friday Hikes
Start your day with a hike on Mount Greylock! Every Friday, now through
October, free guided hikes will be offered on Mount Greylock to be followed
by an optional breakfast at historic Bascom Lodge.
Meet at the Visitors Center (30 Rockwell Road, Lanesboro) at 7:30AM where
Steve Linscott will start your day with a nice hike! Hikes will be moderate
to strenuous. There is a fee for breakfast, which will be at 9 AM. Call

Art @ City Hall
ART @
CITY HALL features exhibits of 22 local and regional artists. From now
till November 30, drop by City Hall and see visual art and sculpture on both
floors and in the council chambers as well. North Adams artist Diane
Sullivan is curator, and has invited other local and regional painters,
printmakers, photographers; sculptors and mixed media artists to participate
in the show at 10 Main Street. City Hall public hours are Monday through
Thursday from 8:30-4:30 pm and Friday 8:30 - 1:00 pm. Contact Diane Sullivan

"DownStreet Art Thursday"
The third Thursday of every month into the Fall brings another "DownStreet Art Thursday" to downtown
North Adams. From 6-9 PM you can enjoy music, performances, gallery
openings and exhibitions, and other downtown activities. For more info

SEPTEMBER EVENTS
Shady Pines Campground Carnival
Bring the family & have some fun at the Shady Pines Campground Carnival this
Saturday, Sept 4th from 11- 3. There'll be carnival games and prizes, a
Chinese auction, bike raffle, face painting, and special auctions for a
cedar chest, jelly jar cabinet and an afghan donated by campers. Lots of
food & beverages will be available too. Admission is $3 per person with all
proceeds to benefit Shriners Hospital and the Savoy Police and Volunteer
Fire Departments. It's all on Saturday, rain or shine at the Shady Pines
Campground, 547 Loop Rd., Savoy.
Florida Council On Aging Multi-Family Tag Sale And Craft Fair
On Saturday Sept 4th from 9-2, the Friends of the Florida Council on Aging
will hold a multi-family tag sale and craft fair. It'll be at the Florida
Community/Senior Center on Route 2 (Mohawk Trail) across from the Baptist
Church.
Equus Therapeutic Fund Raiser
Equus Therapeutic in Williamstown offers horseback riding programs for the
disabled, and they're having a fund-raising tag sale Saturday and Sunday
from 9-3 at 651 Henderson Rd. in Williamstown. Stop by and see what they
have to offer!
NB Adult Basic Education Program
Enrollment is underway at the Northern Berkshire Adult Basic Education
Program for the September start of classes. GED preparation and Pre-College
Skills, English for Speakers of Other Languages and Basic Skills classes are
offered. To schedule an enrollment meeting or to get more information on
these and other classes being offered please call 662-5314. All classes,
books and materials are free for enrolled students. Day and evening classes
begin the week of September 7th.
Berkshire County Night Cruzers
Berkshire County Night Cruzers and Williamstown Commons Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center invite you to their 4th annual Cruise Night, Weds.,
Sept 8th form 6-8 PM at Williamstown Commons, 25 Adams Road, Williamstown.
They'll have hot dogs and hamburgers for sale and lots of classic cars to
check out.
Red Cross Blood Drive
Specialty Minerals will host a Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, Sept 9th
from Noon-5 at 260 Columbia St., Adams. All presenting donors will get a
free t-shirt and a coupon for $7 off a signature Jiffy Lube oil change.
Walk-ins are welcome but appointments will have priority. To scheduled your

Sushi Fest 2010
Here's a unique event: Sushi Fest 2010, to benefit the Alzheimer's
Association. It's at Taylor's Fine Dining in North Adams on Thursday Sept.
9th from 6-9 PM. Sushi and a selection of Japanese beverages will be
featured and there will be a silent auction of art, pottery, jewelry and
other items from local artists and craftsmen. Tickets are $45 per person
with proceeds going to the Alzheimer's Ass'n through the Berkshire Elder Law
Center's team in the upcoming Memory Walk.

1st United Methodist Church Dinner
On Sat., Sept. 11th the 1st United Methodist Church in North Adams will hold
a Take-Out or Eat-In Dinner of Tuna Noodle Casserole with baby carrots,
sourdough bread and chocolate or vanilla pudding with whipped topping.
Dinners are $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Call the church
at 664-9655 by 5 PM Friday Sept. 10th to reserve your dinner. Just leave
your name, address and phone number and the number of dinners you'll need.
Pick up time will be Saturday the 11th between 5-6 PM at the 1st
Congregational Church kitchen door on Summer St. If you're a shut in or
without transportation they'll deliver your meal to you.
Drury Girls Soccer Team 5th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament
The Drury Girls Soccer Team is sponsoring its 5th annual benefit golf
tournament at the Stamford Valley Golf Course on Sunday, September 12th,
with tee times beginning at 1 PM. There will be nine holes of golf with a
four-person, captain and crew format followed by a picnic lunch. The fee is

Adams Elks Annual Member-Guest Cookout
The Adams Elks will be having their annual Member-Guest Cookout on Sept.

McCann Tech Boys Soccer Team Spaghetti Dinner
The defending State Technical Schools champion McCann Tech Boys Soccer team
will host a spaghetti dinner on Thursday, Sept. 23rd from 4:30-7pm at the

Adams Elks Craft fair
The Adams Elks are currently looking for vendors and crafters for a Craft
