Hoosac Valley Names Top Students for Class of 2018

Hoosac Valley High School has named the top students for the class of 2018.

Jenna M. Charron has earned the distinction of being named the valedictorian and Samantha L. Sherwood has been named salutatorian. Commencement exercises will be held Friday, June 1, at 7 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

Charron is the daughter of James and Melissa Charron of Adams.

She will attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the fall and will major in engineering.

Sherwood is the daughter of Bridget Sumner of North Adams and Adam Sherwood of Drury. She is the recipient of the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship. She was also the grand-prize winner in 2014 and a gold medal winner in years 2015 through 2018 at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art Teen Invitational Art Show.

She plans to attend Westfield State University in the fall and will major in art and animation.
