January has at least one more winter storm left in it. It's ticketed to arrive in the Berkshires during the day Tuesday and stay overnight into Wednesday.

The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Winter Storm Watch from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. Snow begins Tuesday afternoon and becomes steady by Tuesday evening. Snow, possibly heavy at times, continues Tuesday night before ending by daybreak Wednesday. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are possible, but remember the Watch covers a wide area including the Berkshires, Southern VT and nearby counties in NY.  The snow amounts should be higher the farther north you are.  As of early Monday, the snow map showed the Northern Berkshires in the 8-10 inch range.

You'll likely hear all kinds of numbers between now & Tuesday. But there's one thing forecasters are all agreeing on. Bitter cold air is on the way behind the storm, with lows Wednesday night plummeting below zero and highs Thursday in the single digits.
