With the big Fall Foliage Parade coming up on Sunday, September 30, North Adams' Fall Foliage Festival of Events gets underway this weekend.

The Children's Races and Family Fair are set for 10 A.M. to Noon this Saturday, Sept. 22 in a new location: Houghton Street Park, which is adjacent to UNO Park and the Porches. The Northern Berkshire United Way, Youth Center Inc., and the City of North Adams present this annual foot race and family fair, free and open to all ages. The races will have categories for various age groups & awards for group winners, sponsored by Greylock Federal Credit Union. Race registration runs from 10 to 10:30.

The Fair also includes obstacle courses, games, giveaways, and live music by Terry A La Berry & Friends. There will be booths hosted by local community organization too. Again, it's all free for the family!

And don't forget: the Friends of the North Adams Public Library Book Sale is this Saturday from 9 to 4 at St. Elizabeth's Parish Center, there will be electronics recycling & paper shredding going on downtown next to All Saints Episcopal Church from 9 to 1, and the Voices For Recovery Walk, Rally, and Vigil will be taking place from 1 to 3:30. Many more events are planned in the week to come!
