The Berkshire Eagle  reports a truck driver was hospitalized following a collision with a crane Thursday morning at the entrance to Specialty Minerals.

The Berkshire Eagle reports the truck driver needed to be removed from the vehicle when Adams Police, Fire and Ambulance personnel responded to the scene on Columbia Street at about 6:38 a.m., according to a Facebook post by the Adams Fire Department on Friday morning.

The truck driver was not identified and his condition was unknown at the time of the posting, according to the Adams Fire Department.

The truck struck the crane near its hydraulic tank, forcing fire personnel to quickly collaborate with Specialty Minerals and Adams Excavating employees to contain the subsequent spill with brooms and a drying agent.

The Department of Environmental Protection was notified of the spill.
