State Rep. Gailanne Cariddi fought to support the Greylock Glen project for years.

The Berkshire Eagle reports soon, a piece of it could be named after her.

State Rep. John Barrett III, D-North Adams, has filed a budget amendment to name the visitor center at the Mount Greylock State Reservation in Lanesborough the "Representative Gailanne M. Cariddi

The ultimate goal, Barrett told The Eagle, is to have the planned Greylock Glen outdoor center in Adams bear Cariddi's name.

Barrett, who won the 1st Berkshire District special election after Cariddi's death last year, noted her robust support of redeveloping the Greylock Glen into a resort that includes an outdoor center, lodge, campgrounds and more.
